The designer
ANDREA STEIDL

Andrea Steidl graduated from the Politecnico di Milano with a degree in Industrial Design and began his career immediately with a job in Patricia Urquiola’s studio. He went on to become a Creative Manager and remained with the firm until 2016. He was responsible for the Design and Product areas and oversaw limited editions, temporary installations, site-specific projects and interior design for a range of clients.

At the same time, in academic circles he started working both as an assistant professor at the Politecnico di Milano and a course supervisor at Domus Academy and Scuola Politecnica di Design.

In 2016, he founded the / àr o / design studio with Raquel Pacchini. They work for a range of companies in the fields of art direction, graphic design, installations and industrial product design.

Using a creative process based on aesthetic, product and strategic research, the firm transforms the ideas and inspirations of its clients into value systems in order to give rise to a fresh perspective on the brand that revolves around creative direction, products and visual communication.


SKRIVO DESIGN

Skrivo Design is a specialist furnishing and lighting consulting firm that was founded in Milan in 2012 by the Croatian/Irish designer Stefan Krivokapic. Born in 1981, Krivokapic has a multicultural background that enables him to draw on the traditions, customs, values and materials of a range of cultures in order to develop interesting new products. Every one of his designs is based on analysis of the technical features of materials, functions and processing methods. Skrivo has received numerous international accolades, including Best Furniture Designer from Elle Decor Croatia, a New Office Designer Award and a Gold Award at the Samsung Young Design Awards. Recently, its Pinch collection was included in the 2017 ADI Design Index.


ANTONINO SCIORTINO

Antonino Sciortino calls himself a craftsman/artist with a “minimalist baroque” style. In his workshop in Milan, Sciortino presents a fresh take on the old trade of blacksmithing, which he first learned to love as an eight-year-old child in the spellbinding land of Sicily. He interweaves the ancient art of working iron with his studies of dance: this perfectly balanced fusion can be found in every one of his creations, which stand out due to his use of special “cooked” iron that allows him to make soft structures reminiscent of dancing shadows.


GIANNI ROSSETTI

Born in Udine in 1958, Gianni Rossetti graduated from the University Institute of Architecture in Venice. For two years he collaborated with Promosedia, overseeing the technical side of the International Chair Exhibition. He also helped to organize other exhibitions in both Europe and the United States. In the early 1990s he opened his own design firm and began designing for various furniture companies from the Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto and Trentino-Alto Adige regions. Among them is La Cividina, for which he has designed several collections. He currently works in Tricesimo, where he has also expanded into private and public building design.


ANTONIO RODRIGUEZ

Antonio Rodriguez was born in 1963 and he grew up in Spain. He studied in Valencia and Milan. In 1989 he founded the Estudio A6 product design firm in Valencia. In 1993 he moved to Milan, where he began working with the Taipei Design Center, Studio Matsunaga and Ugolini Design. From 2000 to 2005 he taught at the Istituto Europeo di Design (IED) in Milan. Since 2003, he has been the Product Design Manager and a Partner at Matteo Thun & Partners.


SIMON PENGELLY

The experience that Simon Pengelly gained in his father’s craft workshop when he was young has played a crucial part in his training and his approach to design. Pengelly’s creations have a strong artisan aspect when it comes to the interpretation of materials and comprehension of the way in which individuals use and interact with items. The hallmarks of Pengelly’s works are clean-cut, basic and light forms, which emerge from the simplification of processes behind all of his designs. After graduating from Kingston Polytechnic in 1988, Pengelly set up a London-based firm in 1993. He now works with numerous leading names on the international design scene.

In 2011, Pengelly won a coveted Compasso d’Oro design award.


PBA Studio

Architect Paolo Badetti founded pbastudio in the early 2000s. It has taken architecture into new spheres of action by working at the same time not only on interior, contract and industrial design but also on exceptional hospitality-based design schemes. The firm has responded to the evolution of design in the residential, hospitality and service industries by taking an in-depth look into approaches to contemporary living. As part of its efforts on this front, it has created a technical-design structure dedicated to technological fields and development in research.


PIERRE PAULIN

Pierre Paulin was unquestionably one of the pioneers of modern design. From the beginning of his career in the 1950s, he played a decisive role in the history of design and revolutionized the French lifestyle thanks to his progressive personal vision for homes.


PAOLO MARTINIG

Paolo Martinig was born in Cividale del Friuli (near Udine) in 1962. After he concluded his academic career, in 1986 he found a job in the communication industry and went on to work in Milan, Treviso and Udine. The boundary between communication and design is very fine and in 1994 he moved into the latter field, bringing with him all of the creative skills and experience that he had built up in his previous role. Martinig has contributed to big international projects for the top names in Italian fashion. He also works for leading nautical and furniture companies.

In 2010 he was selected for the ADI Design Index and nominated for the Compasso d’Oro award.


LANZAVECCHIA + WAI

Lanzavecchia + Wai is a creative collaboration between Francesca Lanzavecchia (Pavia, 1983) and Hunn Wai (London, 1980) To them, being designers means being researchers, engineers, craftsmen and story-tellers all at the same time. They began their cooperation at the Design Academy in Eindhoven, Holland, under the supervision of Gijs Bakker, co-founder of Droog Design. Lanzavecchia is focused on the relationships objects have and can have with the human body and soul as well as having a fervent eye for future trends. Wai is fascinated by the collisions and fusions of materials, meanings and forms. Design projects to them are research journeys characterized by the pursuit and selective employment of different design disciplines and professional competences, to be curated, cross-bred and nurtured into concepts and products that propose possibilities and inspire new perspectives. The design studio based both in Italy and Singapore was officially established in 2010 and their work spans from limited editions, to mass products for brand like FIAM, Living Divani, Cappellini, De Castelli, Gallotti&Radice, Bosa, Nodus, Mirage to special commissions for major brands and museums like Hermès La Triennale di Milano, MAXXI, Alcantara, Antolini, Tod’s AgustaWestland. Their receive many accomplishments include being awarded with the “Young Design Talent of the Year” by Elle Décor International Design Awards 2014.


SEBASTIAN HERKNER

Born in 1981, Sebastian Herkner studied product design at Offenbach University of Art and Design, specializing in objects and furnishings in which different cultural contexts are merged and cutting-edge technology is blended with craftsmanship, to underline the multiform aesthetic appeal of reinvented materials and shapes.

While he was still a student, Herkner worked with the fashion designer Stella McCartney in London. It was an experience that helped to hone his sensitivity for materials, colours, structures and textures. Since he founded his own firm in Offenbach am Main in 2006, he has designed for companies such as ClassiCon, Very Wood by Gervasoni, Moroso, Sancal, La Chance and Rosenthal, while also working on interior design schemes and projects for exhibitions and museums.

In addition, he lectures at Offenbach University of Art and Design and he has won many accolades, including the Newcomer award at the 2011 German Design Awards.


PETER HARVEY

Peter Harvey London provides innovative, futuristic, high-quality and exclusive interior design solutions, meeting the sophisticated, practical needs of an artistically appreciative group of customers. The firm designs furnishing and lighting products, as well as glass objects. It covers everything from commissions for the contract market to items for residential use.


CONSTANCE GUISSET

Constance Guisset is a French designer. She aims to create ergonomic, light, lively and welcoming objects that stem from her desire for movement, delicacy and surprise. She founded her firm, which specializes in product design, interior design and set design, in 2009.

Constance Guisset works with many French and international furniture houses such as Petite Friture, Moustache, Tectona,LaCie, Molteni&C, La Cividina and ZaoZuo. She has also designed sets for several shows (including ones by Angelin Preljocaj and Wang Ramirez) and exhibitions (such as for the Musée des Arts Décoratifs and Musée du Quai Branly in Paris). From 2012 to 2014, Constance Guisset Studio developed a new reception area concept for Suite Novotel, which can currently be seen in Europe.

The Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris dedicated an exhibition to her work from November 2017 to March 2018.


MICHAEL GELDMACHER

As part of Neuland Industriedesign, Michael Geldmacher worked alongside Eva Paster for internationally renowned companies for almost 15 years.

The designers received several prizes for their work, including an Elle Deco Design Award in 2006, a nomination for the Compasso d’Oro in 2007, a Chicago Good Design Award, an iF Product Design Award, a nomination for the Design Award of the Federal Republic of Germany, and a Wallpaper Design Award in 2011.

In 2015, Eva and Michael decided to venture down new paths and develop fresh projects individually.

Since then Michael has successfully established partnerships with new clients (winning a 2018 Iconic Award), while also doing more international work with students.


FORM US WITH LOVE

Form Us With Love is an international design firm founded in 2005. Since its conception, the firm has burned with a passion for

design and its democratic potential. Its belief is that we all have a right to meaningful design.

At the firm’s core lies a process that blends traditional creative practices with lean, strategic application. The central intention is

to evolve with the needs of each project, its place in the market and the ever-changing requirements of real people.

Today, the work of Form Us With Love falls into three areas: consultancy (engagement in products, ranges, collaborations and

spaces for clients around the world), ventures (disciplined and holistic approaches to launch and build brands) and civic (based

on knowledge transfers and sharing experiences, actively contributing to the broader spectrum of design).


MAURO FADEL

Mauro Fadel was born in 1963 in the Swiss town of St. Gallen and he now lives and works in Oderzo, near the Italian city of Treviso. He is mainly involved in the areas of interior architecture and industrial design and he has won numerous Italian and international awards and accolades for his designs.He began his professional career as an architect and designer by working with a wide variety of leading companies in Veneto,Friuli and Milan, many of which are in the chair, furniture and upholstered furnishings industry. A blend of creativity and rationality has always been a distinguishing feature of his outlook and his practical approach to bringing his designs to fruition.

Each of Fadel's creations stems from an in-depth study of formal ergonomics and not only reflects the manufacturing requirements of companies but also clearly reveals everything behind it: attention to detail and careful research go into each creative step, in a development process that begins with a sketch and leads to the production of a prototype.


BÜRO FAMOS

Büro Famos was founded in Berlin in 2012 by Hanna Litwin and Romin Heide. It aims to design sustainable, long-lasting

lighting, furnishings and accessories.

Each new design project is based on a masterful combination of sophisticated processing techniques and new materials, which

are used to forge innovative solutions and create clean-cut items that are fun and user friendly.


LUCA BOTTO

Born in Udine in 1966, Luca Botto developed an interest in design while he was studying architecture in Venice.

He works in the fields of architecture, interior design (designing homes and shops in Italy and internationally), art direction,

brand strategy and industrial design.


STEFANO BIGI

Born in 1974, Stefano Bigi grew up in France and Italy. The two different cultures left him with a taste for the chic and the

beautiful. After studying Art in France, he started a career in graphic and web design. However, in almost 10 years in the field

he never stopped drawing sofas, chairs and decorative objects. It was not until he turned 31 that he decided to embrace his

great passion and start designing furniture and decorative objects. In 2005 he moved to Milan and started his own firm:

Helldesign by Stefano Bigi.
